Donald Macleod, 12 Garenin

Killed in Mesopotamia
Mr Kenneth Macleod, 12 Garenin, has been notified that his son, Pte Donald Macleod, Seaforths, was killed in the Tigris fighting on February 22nd [1917]. Pte Macleod was 22 years of age, and previous to the outbreak of war was serving under the Clyde Trust. A younger brother, Murdo, was killed in France on 10th May 1916. Both lads were loyal and dutiful sons - frank, kind-hearted and of much promise. Widespread is the sorrow and heartfelt the sympathy for the parents, brothers and sisters.
