Donald Morrison, 8 Mangersta

Lost in mining of ship.
Another of our brave seamen has “crossed the bar”. He leaves a widow to mourn his loss and to his old widowed mother (who is still living) his death will be a very sore blow indeed. Donald, by his wit and humour, would keep any company he happened to be in in merry mood. In his dealings with his fellow-men, he was said to be as straight as a die. He will be greatly missed, not only in his own village, but in the neighbouring township where he was so well known and admired.
