Berneray (Harris)
While many of our gallant lads do escape, we regret that our little island has had its share of casualties. Last week, the sad news was received that Donald Morrison, only surviving son of the late Malcolm Morrison, was drowned by the torpedoing of his ship. He was an naval reservist and served since the outbreak of war on various ships and in different parts of the empire. He was a splendid type of those capable and gallant seamen born and bred in our Western Isles. The deepest sympathy is extended to his widow and five little boys and also to his widowed mother and to his sisters, one of whom, Miss Napier, lost her husband on the battlefield in France a few months ago.
